Our Past...

CCFS began on 1st January 2004 with 7 churches offering up to 14 street homeless people overnight accommodation until the end of March for 1 night each.

Present...our volunteers

Since then the service has expanded in that over 30 churches are now involved, some covering the period from 1st November to 31st December and others from 1st January to the end of March. Our organisation is run entirely by volunteers who manage to find the time to stay over-night at our shelters and help cook, clean and keep our guests company. This year, we became a registered Ltd Company, and hope to continue with our growth as we see more guests finding the need of temporary accommodation.

one of our guestsThe Future...

- We hope to expand our organisation to churches in South London.

- We want to help rehabilitate our homeless people.

How we are funded...

Each church pays its own costs for the Shelter but as heat and light is being used overnight during the coldest months of the year CCFS endeavours to re-imburse the churches for at least part of those energy costs. CCFS is a Registered Charity No: 1152470 and all our helpers are volunteers. We have no paid employees and no guaranteed income; we rely on donations. If you would like to make a donation you can use your credit card or bank account (where available) here:
